Q: Does the Pilates studio have a cancellation policy?
A: Yes, Cancellation of an appointment with less than 24 hour notice will result in the client being charged for that session unless the client is able to reschedule within the same week and an appointment time is available. It must be a different day then a regular set appointment.
Q: What does the Pilates Method accomplish?
A: Relief from back pain; weight control; stress relief; an improvement in muscle and joint flexibility; improvement of posture by correcting the body's coordination, balance and alignment; stimulation of the circulatory system, oxygenation of the blood, thereby releasing endorphins which help heal injured tissues; and helps prevent osteoporosis (brittle bones).
Q: Can a person lose weight using Pilates?
A: By using the Pilates Method you will tighten all of your muscles and lose inches around the stomach, thighs and buttocks. In conjunction with a proper diet, the Method promotes a lean and graceful appearance.
Q: Can a person use Pilates in conjunction with other exercise programs?
A: Yes. Depending on your personal goals, there is no prohibition from working out with other programs.
Q: Do I develop large muscles with Pilates?
A: No, long, lean, defined muscles are developed.
Q: How many sessions of Pilates per week do I need?
A: The recommendation is two or three sessions per week.
Q: Can I use the Pilates Method if I have back problems?
A: Yes, many people use the method to correct their back problems. By strengthening the body's core, you change muscle length, correct posture problems, alleviate or prevent many back problems, all while relaxing, rebalancing and realigning the body.
